The Ampitheater of Anguish
Aug 23rd
A friend of mine ingame, Candy, got his Paladin to 75. It was always his pride and joy, after the amount of time he put into it in vanilla, I really can’t blame him! He asked me, “What level can I do the Ring of Blood thingy?” I said 75, and off we went a little bit later. Of course I took Soupdragon, mostly because it’s much easier to be smacked in the face and Death Strike than to remember a class I haven’t played in a while. While I was waiting, I noticed a couple of players had wiped on the last bit of the Ampitheater quests and the mammoth was just standing there, obviously bugged. They seemed to be struggling so I decided I’d let them sort it out, tag it, and I’d tank it for them, however, the Warlock jumped in the mammoth and stupidly I attacked the other guy.. and tagged it. It was a bit of a mess, we all died, ran back over, I hopped into their group, helped kill it then got on with helping Candy, who was pretty damn happy to get a new hitty stick.
A little before that, while I was flying around on my Gryphon (this is important, I’ve played as Horde for so long the default Gryphon mounts Alliance get are, to me, gorgeous and I’m so jealous!), I noticed something I’d never stopped to be able to notice before. In the Ampitheater of Anguish, and I guess you’ve all seen this, but I’m an unobservant doofus sometimes, there is an audience. Walking around the audience is a Goblin vendor who sells snacks and occasionally lobs a bag of peanuts at one of the spectators! I thought this was excellent, and I wish I’d noticed it all of those times I’d been here before.

Loremaster Number 2 Please
Jul 30th
I realise that most of you think I’m crazy for having 2 characters with Loremaster, and of course, it was a little bit dé jà vu, but I did most of it on my Priest early last year, then rerolled to my Hunter before I could finish Kalimdor. Of course, assuming I was sticking with my Hunter, I went through it all again, with the brains to realise it’d be best to do Kalimdor first THEN Eastern Kingdoms. When I went back to my Priest, I had 80 quests left until I had the achievement. Did you really think I was gonna leave it like that? Noway! Anyway, so, I’ve slacked a bit but finally:

I think when it gets to the point when you have 2 characters with Loremaster, you reach the point where ‘the Insane’ seems like an excellent idea. I just need to find a bit of insanity first.

Day Of Much Squee
Jul 1st
I’m going to start with my second Violet Proto Drake. For me, it really HAS been a long strange trip, as I started Fae’s achievements alongside everybody else. I rerolled to my Priest in the first January, in which time I started them all on her, and then rerolled back to Fae in, I guess it was August or September, in which time I started doing them on Fae again. I kept doing my Priest’s so that I wouldn’t have the hassle of, “oh I wish I’d kept doing them” and I’m damn glad I thought that way now I’m back on her, but Fae had to wait until this Midsummer for her Violet Proto and I finally completed my goal today. Hooray!
My next priority was to knock out some raids on my Priest. I need a short WoW break, I cancelled my account the other night after getting a bit ragey because I didn’t want to be getting ragey, so I just stopped my account to take a breather. I might play a little Aion again, try out some things I didn’t get chance to, see what the new patch is like, or maybe I’ll just watch a bunch of anime, either way I’ll try to keep blogging while I’m on a break. My account time runs out on Sunday, so I gave myself a few priorities, and today I’ve managed to meet them. Fae’s achievements, and Seithir’s 4 set. I did a VoA25, then found an “8+ bosses, HC Gunship” group, figured I need to do ICC, what’s the worst that can happen? We cleared everything but Sindragosa and Lich King. After Dreamwalker the raid leader decided to leave it at that and honestly, I couldn’t care less that was an awesome pug! Heroic Festergut, Professor Putricide, all one shot? I’m still just a little in awe, and my measly 7-8k dps made me look like such a terrible player against these people! However, not only did it get my Ashen Verdict rep upto 9,000/21,000, it netted me enough emblems to complete my Tier 10 4 set, and I also managed to grab a token!! Squee. So that was nice, got a VoA10 out of the way too.
After the ICC, I found this little guy in my mailbox:

I’d been waiting all day for him to arrive, and if I could be bothered I’d show you the picture I took of the battered box and the ‘Please handle with care, fragile’ notice on it. My God they were lucky it was a plush toy. Anyway, once I got him ingame, I decided his name is Bertie. Yes, he’s a cuddly toy, so he needs a name. I spent a while playing with him, watching him run about and fly around. Bought a pet leesh and ran around a bit, then played some fetch. MY GOD this is the cutest thing since the Polar Bear Cub with a little red ball on his nose.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m gonna go with: SQUEE!!

What Am I Doing?
Jun 12th
The first thing I’d like to mention is why I’m not posting very much at the moment. Without going into too much detail, I’ve been having a pretty touch time in IRL land and I haven’t had much passion or creativity floating around, on the worst days my posts would have been half-arsed and horrid to read, so I spared you the trouble of having too much in your reader – aren’t I nice? Anyway, I’m not quitting blogging, just expect it to be a bit less posty than usual while I play some WoW and watch some anime.
Alright, I’ve left this long enough now. The caption contest. If you’d like to see all of the responses check the comments, you all gave me a good laugh, thank you for that! I’m going to give Avatar my favourite vote (see below) but I really did love them all, so if you haven’t already, take a look.

Caption Contest!
Jun 3rd
When I was browsing through my screenshots folder looking for a decent screenie of my Priest for a new Twitter avatar and Gravatar (yes, again, I’m not a big fan of pink), I came across this one and it made me giggle. I’ll add the funniest caption you can come up with to the image and post it in a few days time if I get any replies.i

- I’m easily amused and like footnotes – what of it? :p [↩]
Screenshots and Lyrics
May 10th
As suggested by Anea on Twitter, post a screenshot, and song lyrics to go with.

Born on a Horse <- Clicky for Youtube link to the song. I also have another I really wanted to share.
“Shes got eyes
Propostrious eyes
I’ve never had a lover who’s my sister or my brother before
I’ve been counting on the wrong things
To make life feel alright
You can be
My acid queen
’till the end of time
You can have it all
You’re stuck in the middle
Reason one and all
I was born on a horse thats all.”

Song for the Clay, le Bloc Party.
“I am trying to be heroic
In an age of modernity
I am trying to be heroic
As all around me history sinks
So I enjoy and I devour
Flesh and wine and luxury
But in my heart I am so lukewarm
Nothing ever really touches me
At the Trois Garcons, we meet at precisely 9 o clock
I order the foie gras and I eat it with complete disdain
Bubbles rise in champagne flutes, but when we kiss I feel nothing
Feasting on sleeping pills and Marlboro reds
Self-pity won’t save you
Oh how our parents suffered for nothing
Live the dream like the 80′s never happened
People are afraid to merge on the freeway
Disappear here
We stroll past the queue, into the magazine launch party
I am handed a pill and I swallow it with complete disdain
Kick drum pounds off beat high hats remember to look bored
We suck each other’s faces and make sure we are noticed
The cocaine won’t save you
East London is a vampire it sucks the joy right out of me
Dressed like the cover of a magazine. I’ve aged so in these golden years.”

From Wolfie to Horsie

First of all, I need to apologise for the state of my comment system. There seems to have been a bug or something when I imported my comments to IntenseDebate and they asked me to leave it on so that they can check it, so if you leave a comment there is a high chance that it will end up in an old post at the moment. If I haven’t heard back from them by Tuesday I will have to turn it off and do without because I can’t even read your comments properly at the moment. We’ll have to see.
Second of all: Out With The Old…
…In With The New!
And yes, this means that I will be changing the background and spending a little bit of time getting the armory buttons just the way I like them. I like to have 3, which link to the character I perceive to be my main on each server. I might squish my Warlock back in the header, we’ll see. Whatever I do, I need to slightly de-Blood Elf the place.
Three cheers for the waggle!

A Little Exploration
Mar 26th
Pilf’s Grand Tour is an excellent response to the Explorer Task! I think she is a wonderful writer, do read them all. Mine is a little different and you can see I’m pretty terrible at taking decent screenshots. The first one is Jaedi speaking, the last two are Fae.
Undercity: The Throne Room
This was actually a suggestion from Erc, to go sit in the throne room of the Ruins of Lordaeron and turn up your Ambience and listen. I did.
“Have you ever stopped to listen to the whispers of the past in Lordaeron? The cries of pain, of betrayal.. It brings a tear to my eye. The horrible events that occurred here, in this very room, are the very reason I can’t bring myself to care for or believe in humanity. There will always be betrayal, sadness, and often without reason.” – Jaedi.
It’s easy to forget when you’re going about your daily routine, that Lordaeron was once a thriving kingdom, ruled over by King Terenas Menethil, Arthas’ father. It is haunting when you stop to look around and listen. You can hear different echoes of the past in the various parts of Lordaeron and the bloodstain where Arthas killed his father can still be seen.
Searing Gorge: The Cauldron
“We have encountered and defeated Ragnaros in the past, yet the Cauldron remains as a reminder to us of the evil that is the Dark Iron Dwarves. They surround themselves by lava and worship a God who is too powerful to control? Madness. These are dark times..” – Fae.
Whilst charging around, getting a little more of Loremaster done on my Hunter I had to venture into ‘the Cauldron’ where I can see mechanical structures built into the rocks and a deep quarry. I have to say, though generally I’ve tended to hate this place in the past because it reminds me of BRD wipes and dust, the lore behind it has really won me over. So much that I took my Rogue here to level. The slaves of the Dark Iron down in the Slag Pit have been driven mad by their masters, and we don’t know for certain what they are digging for, it is thought to be Old God or Titan artifacts, but we can’t be certain.
Arathi Highlands: Faldir’s Cove
“I have to swim to this place called.. *checks soaking map* Faldir’s Cove. I’m told that I’ll be able to find a chunk of knowledge I didn’t previously know.. and I have to swim there. My hair’s getting wet, and NomNom really doesn’t like the water. Like there’s going to be anything there anyway, I’ve never heard any talk of… My God, that’s a pirate ship? In Arathi Highlands?! That’s beautiful!” – Fae
I had to check Faldir’s Cove for quests while I was doing Loremaster, because I didn’t believe there were really quests there, I’d never heard of it. Lo and behold there were a few, all granted to you by a crew of treasure hunting pirate gnomes and an ogre. The fact that this place is fairly difficult to get to means that you wouldn’t think about going there unless directed (which you aren’t unless tracking quest givers on Wowhead), which implies that this little spot is forgotten about almost. There are naga to kill and Blackwater Raiders in search of Elven Treasure, not to mention maps from their sunken ships to be able to navigate away. The solitude alone is quite beautiful.
